Educational coverage of how Canadians invest — segregated funds, the product I'm licensed to offer, alongside the broader landscape of ETFs, mutual funds, stocks, GICs, bonds, and index investing.

I'm licensed to offer segregated funds — an insurance-based investment product — and that licensing is what I can act on directly with a client. But investing as a topic is much bigger than any one licensed product, and I have knowledge of the broader landscape beyond it, so this section reflects that.
The Learning Centre discusses segregated funds alongside ETFs, mutual funds, individual stocks, GICs, bonds, and index investing, because understanding how these options actually differ is genuinely useful, whether or not a given one falls within what I'm licensed to recommend. Comparisons between investment products on this site are educational — meant to help you understand real differences in cost, guarantees, and structure, not to steer you toward one over another.
I can teach the concepts, consult on how they fit your bigger picture, and guide you toward a decision on any of it. But an actual product recommendation is limited to what I'm licensed and authorized to offer — currently, segregated funds and insurance-based investment and retirement products. Where what you need goes beyond that, I'll say so plainly and refer you to a properly licensed securities professional rather than blur the line.
